We have has such a famtastic 2 weeks at la Querce. A magnificent villa which I shall always remember very fondly.
The weather has been fabulous and this has been the perfect spot for exploring Tuscany. Sadly Impruneta was “chiusa per ferie” when we were here - but the grumpy barista in the cafè made no smile and great cappuccinos!
We have loved re-visting Montepulciano and Firenze. Also seeing Pisa and Viareggio for the first time.
The hospitality has been great and I at last got the whole family to eat my lasagne for dinner and lunch.
The tour of the wine grove and vineyard was very interesting - well done Bartolo!
We are sad to be leaving but a great fortnight. A fabulous villa.
Now, whenever I hear “La Rondine” by Puccini, I will think of La Querce - it is the soundtrack to our holidays.
The grand piano was also a fabulous treat - Scarlatti and Mozart sounded very good at the “old girl”!
My Italian was improved considerably these past 2 weeks and has re-ignited my enthusiasm for the language. I hope to continue my studies back in North East England upon my return.
I teake with me: the beautiful italian language, the magnificent Tuscan views, the fabulous sculptures of Firenze and the satisfying italian cuisine.

I also enjoyed a fantastic time here celebrating Patrick, my father’s birthday (70). We have enjoyed the space enormously, the heat and history. Highlights for me have included: sitting as the late afternoon turns to dusk and the sun vanishes behind the hills, surrounded by family, drinking italian wine and eating fabulous food. floating on a lilo in the pool in the full afternoon sun.

Here we are, packing to leave, one of our party is playing a Chopin nocturne on the piano upstairs and we are crying. This has been an exquisite, joyful week, full of laughter, wine and grace (and Grace, who was wonderful as well).
Thank you, there is a universal agreement that this was the best from the nine years the family has been gathering. This will be spoken of in later years, in loving tomes. We will try to plan a return, of course.

What a lovely week we spent at La Querce. Grace and Almer were a delight and so helpful. This was our home away from home! This was a slice of heaven! Our two meals were delicious. The olive oil was extraordinary. The wine tour was delightful and informative.

Our week at “La Querce” proved to be one of our greatest vacations ever!

With “La Querce” as our base we had a great time exploring Florence and Tuscany, and are still in spell of the tuscan culture and ambience.
Grace and Almer made it even better helping us in the house as well as on any help/information we needed.
